What you need

It is no secret that the ingredients play an important role when it comes to the recipe you are trying to whip up and this applies even to a simple cold cup of coffee. The main ingredients are 2 cups of milk, 2 tablespoons of coffee, 2 tablespoons of fresh cream, 2 tablespoons of vanilla ice cream and a tablespoon of honey, which is the secret ingredient that will not be shared by most baristas. Sri Lanka is home to many vegan kinds of honey and you can use kitul treacle as a replacement for bees' honey.

 The recipe

Get all the ingredients together and if you wish to have a strong coffee taste it is best to brew your coffee at home. You can purchase fresh coffee beans and cold brew coffee makers from your local coffee shop such as Fits Retail. Once you have the ingredients add them to a blender along with the ice cubes except for the fresh cream. Blend the ingredients well until they become smooth and creamy and make sure you stir the mixture now and then to make sure they get blended thoroughly. Once the mixture is nice and smooth add the fresh cream and blend again as this will have a different effect when you add this ingredient to the mixture later. Depending on how cold you want your coffee you can add more ice cubes to the blender but keep in mind that this will also dilute the drink. In case you do not have a blender add the ingredients to a shaker and shake well. This will make you have an arm workout apart from the coffee but when you sip that cold drink it will be worth it.

 Final steps

If you wish to make the coffee creamer and sweeter you can add more fresh cream on top once the coffee is poured into the glass or mug. You also have the option of adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top and then adding the fresh cream so it will definitely have the look and feel of a coffee shop cold brew. If you have syrups and toppings you can experiment with different ones and add them on top. Some of the best toppings that work are chocolate syrup, caramel syrup and sprinkling some cinnamon powder. Some other tips and tricks that can be used to make your coffee look exceptional are to do some designs on the glass or mug on the inside before you pour the coffee. This will give a nice touch to the taste as well as a nicer design for the photos you can take for the gram. If you wish to make began cold coffee you can use non-dairy milk such as coconut milk or almond milk but the amounts may vary depending on the consistency and thickness of the liquid. To add texture to your brew, add the ice cubes later to the mixture so that they do not get completely crushed as this will have crunchy ice cubes in your drink when you sip it. You can add and reduce ice cream, fresh cream and other ingredients according to your preference and it is best to serve the coffee immediately once it is out of the mixer.
