How to grind perfect coffee – better ways to balance out flavour and brew

Espresso coffee

A coarse setting works best so that the beans are ground and importantly, unnecessary sediments are prevented from passing through the filter. Where the coffee is too strong, reduce the brewing time and make the grind coarser while using a lesser quantity of coffee with the same amount of water. In the event the coffee looks watery, then add more coffee, increase the brewing time and make the grind finer.
AeroPress
The AeroPress method involves a combination of the following aspects: flexible grind sizes, contact times and water temperatures with coffee makers afforded a greater license and freedom to get creative with their coffee. With a coarse setting, coffee takes longer to brew while a medium setting is quick and hassle-free. On the other hand, though a fine setting can be resorted to, do expect difficulties in pressing down the plunger which can impact the end product considerably.
Siphon
Complementing the siphon method will see the need to accommodate a medium-fine grind size. The two chambers that you would normally associate with the siphon act in creating some of the finest brewed coffee. The first chamber which is filled with water produces vapour with the pressure then forces the water into the higher chamber from heating that takes place in the lower chamber. After the water mixes with the grounds, the water is pulled back into the lower chamber via a filter which is found at the bottom of the higher chamber. The result is that you will discover brewed coffee in the bottom chamber ready to be sent out and savoured.
Turkish
In order for you to brew delightful Turkish coffee, you will have to invest in a finer grind and for such a task, purchasing a deli grinder or conical burr grinder will be your best bet.
