Uncertainty still prevails
While the world is slowly opening up to accommodate the life with Covid-19 there are still several lasting effects that have taken place on the events industry which involves organisers and participants. New methods need to be brought forward and implemented to allow consumers to enjoy events without feeling compromised and to achieve that there needs to be a plan in place when events are being organised in the post-covid-19 era. While digitisation has been the go-to solution for most events there is a personal touch that is missing in these and there are some events that just cannot be hosted online while having a virtual audience. Famous Festivals and Events such as The Olympics had to take severe precautionary measures as safety comes first and organisers need to keep themselves updated about these rules and regulations imposed by countries, governments, and associations from popular news websites such as Events and Festivals Blog. Since people are still living in fear it is important to give the customers and participants the assurance their safety will not be compromised by them attending an event and that they need to accommodate the lifestyle that includes Covid-19 in it but still finds ways to get about their interests and likings.
Rules and regulations
What the organisers must keep in mind is to abide by the rules that are put forth by the country, area, or region. This will not only make the events a success but also allow you to plan better as you will have guidelines that need to be followed. For example, if it is an award ceremony then you will be able to restrict the number of people that come to the ceremony unless they are of utmost importance. However, hosting digital events is not completely successful for business events and vendors and buyers need in-person interaction to make better transactions and close business deals. Since the industry has already taken a rather drastic hit without being able to host many events over the course of about a year the few events that do get permission need to set a good example that events can be a success in keeping with the safety guidelines and precautionary measures.
Focus on sustainability
The events and organisation industry is not one that sustains by itself as many other employers and companies rely on the growth and development of this industry. There are many other industries such as hospitality and travel that live off the events industry. While digitisation does allow certain events to take place this still affects hotels, resorts, and airlines that need people to physically travel from one place to another. Hence Travelling is still a necessity and coming together across industries to help one another is a positive way forward that can help everyone. For example, the International Association of Event Hosts recently decided to partner with the Association of Summer International Olympics Federations to track and monitor sustainability across events. Taking measures to rely on each other will allow companies to get better exposure while also improving to do better with their execution and delivery as it is no longer just their brand that will get the feedback. While focusing on development on how to develop travel and still host events it is also important to focus on working on how to proceed with the pandemic here to stay as the future of the world is still uncertain as the pandemic does not seem to be going away anywhere anytime soon.
